5/2/09 - Stasiu's - Minneapolis

May 2, 2009
Stasiu's Place
Minneapolis

Set:
| Lady Madonna [The Beatles] | Poet (Who Didn't Know It) | Soul Shaker | I'm a Bad MammaJamma (Who Works at Wendy's) | Found My Boogie | Last Night | Casanova | Place | M'Lady | Chosen Ones | Clone You | Damn the Man |

Tonight's show was put on by Positively Tangled and Junebug was sort of a last-minute addition. Our previous experience at Stasiu's was mixed, whereas there weren't a lot of people there, but our energy and show were great. It seems that the same thing happened this time as well.

But the people who were there loved our set, that's true. We have a knack for putting on a full show even when the chips are down (is that a saying?). The energy was high and everyone who stuck around felt that.

It was a pretty rockin' set full of bangers, including the impromptu resurrection of an old Junebug standard, "Casanova". It's one we've been re-working in rehearsal and Nick digs the riff. He started playing it tonight, so I (tony) joined in and then everyone did as well. So we rocked it well. The re-working of that track continues. We also played "Place" tonight, which is is notable since we don't play it live very often these days.

Lynn and Matt Klundt, a couple friends of ours from Aberdeen were in town this weekend for the Flight of the Conchords show and they caught our set tonight. Nick's father-in-law was also present. It was nice to have them all in the crowd.

Other than that, not much else to say, I suppose. Something about Stasiu's always brings out some kind of rockingness in us and that's A-okay.
